HIIT-Training

You’ve hit a wall, and your normal fitness routine just isn’t cutting it anymore. You’ve tried multiple times to lose the stubborn weight but you lose motivation due to lack of results. Thirty minute cardio sessions seem to have no effect on your body anymore. You don’t have time, but if you could just fit something in for just 10-20 minutes! Does this sound like you? What if we told you we have the answer for that! We have that 10-20 minute workout! We have the answers and a sample workout personal trainer approved to go along with it!

The secret is HIIT training, HIIT is short for High Intensity Interval Training! To break it down this form of training has you working out as hard as you possibly can (hence the high intensity) for 30 seconds to 4 minutes depending on the workout, with a break varying between 30 to 60 seconds done repeatedly. A Full HIIT workout can last just 10 minutes but if desired could go as long as 20 minutes but no longer than 30. Perfect if you have a busy schedule or you just can’t make it to the gym!

Types of workouts that go along with HIIT training include those such as high knees, sprinting, squat jumps, mountain climbers, lunges, burpees, jumping jacks, exercise biking and many more. To make it more interesting you can pick a few of these and combined them into one workout allowing you to target multiple areas!

So what makes HIIT so effective in losing weight?

The high intensity of the intervals raise your heart rate by using an anaerobic process that burns more calories, fat, and carbohydrates while increasing your metabolism. Not only does HIIT increase your metabolism but it also creates the afterburn effect which has your body burning calories and fat long after your workout as through!

HIIT is also proven to help you age more healthfully! A study published by the European Heart Journal showed that interval training increases the length of chromosome caps knows as telomeres that help protect your actual DNA to help you age more gracefully and on a healthier manner!

HIIT is also proven to be good for your heart and respiratory health! It’s also said it may help to improve metabolic issues such as cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure.
